Oblivion
Do you ever get the feeling
You’re really not alive
Merely privy to oblivion
Conscious of nothing’s why
I can swallow this world of blue
Taste springtime on my tongue
But darkness will seer my eyes
Bitter tears of a callous sun
I sleep only to wake again
Platitudes passed to pedestrian friends
Holidays are no different than today
Another 24 hours of oblivion
Did yesterday really exist
Matted winter of autumn’s naked bliss
Tragedy and triumph are but a year
Memories buried and seasons revered
Tomorrow will come and go
Nighttime cracked by tepid lights
Summer lusts to speak again
Welcome to oblivion
