No Shoulder To Cry On

Tears seem to be falling more often now, as I lay in my bed, alone and helpless, the darkness and the silence are with me, my only comfort, offers no real help, the clock on the wall ticking endlessly, as my life ticks away, the minutes like years, I lay on my back and stare up at nothingness, the tears now falling down the sides of my face, trickling into my ears, trying to tickle me, yet, no smile can ever find me here anymore, there is no shoulder to cry on tonight, it was my pillow that ended up getting damp, I know I cried myself to sleep again, tightly grasping my pillow as if it were you.

I still feel lonely sometimes, but I know how to deal with it a little better now. Having that solitude can be a good thing, though, especially when I want to concentrate on my poetry. Thank you for the great comments, once again. I really appreciate you stopping by, Mustapha!

This is about a real love lost. But, sometimes, when I write, I tend to dramatize the real feelings that I had experienced. So, it may sound far worse than it actually was!...Thank you so much for the kind visit, Sara! And, you are most welcome, I always enjoy your poetry! I have just posted a new poem, so I hope that you enjoy it.

I could relate such feelings Kelly. More than you could imagine. This was moving so I'm adding this one to my favourites my friend.
