No Matter What
No matter what they do
they can't take you away from me
or me away from you.
No matter what they say
they can't take my day from the night
or the night from my day.
No matter what they can kill
they can't take the will from my soul
or my soul from the will.
No matter what they tear apart
they can't take the heart from my words
or the words from my heart.
No matter what they think
they can't take the ink from the pen
or the pen from the ink.
No matter what they heard
they can't take the word from the page
or the page from the word.
No matter what they see
they can't take me from the poetry
or the poetry from me.
