It is true there was not a bird or a butterfly when I looked out the kitchen window this morning but shortly a hummer appeared at a flower that I got a small piece from my sister-in-law..I don't know the species but it is a fall bloomer with purple trumpet shaped blooms..Its leaf is rough like a sunflower or maximillian sunflower leaft..

There are no butterflies as yesterday at eve, no birds that sing only quiet ease
Is it too early? Have I arisen before they? Where are the feeders, on the nest far away?
Have they left for a far country to spend the short winter's day?
Where are the ones that entertain me? I am distrubed today...

Maybe I should explore more carefully to see what has happened in the yard..
Is there a cougar or a bobcat? Or housecat that fear arouse....

How can I make it without my lovely friends?
I will have to buy some storebought and try to fence them in..

Maybe they will come later or what if not at all...
I will be sad and lonely with no friends at my call...

ah yes i understand, Sara. Since I have had to move away from the country, I've missed my old friends...dearly. God is good to give them to us for their lovely companionship

beautiful piece and show how much Nature plays a huge part in our lives .. we also see so many birds in trees round here but at this time of year they scatter .. even ducks have flown early .. luv it ..

What a lovely write my friend! I really enjoyed this poem this afternoon, creative write! I like how you want to keep your friends there with you...but alas they don't stay for the winter, unfortunately! I too know how that feels Sara, what it's like to have an empty garden of animals! Sad, you miss them! Fabulous piece, Great Work!!
