Nightmare
NIGHTMARE
As child, in my worst nightmare
My form survived a sun flare
Both poles of ice were melted
The whole of Earth was smelted,
All dry land inundated,
All living things cremated
Highest mountain peaks poked through
Blistered sky was red, not blue
On endless sea I floated
Endless sea all I noted
For humanity I wept
On and on and on I slept
My body parts all burning
Escape my fervid yearning
But alas, at last I woke
Was dripping wet and no joke
Then I wished that I were dead
Once again I’d wet the bed
