Natures Art Palette
Butterflies drift in the warm air
Ascending to their favourite bush
The smell of lavender abounds
They stay and savour no need to rush
The gardener likes to see them their
So a sugar solution he does prepare
Not just butterflies love this so
The hummingbird will succour too.
What a massive canvas is painted
By the flowers, butterflies and birds
This is what mother nature intended
Relying on us to supply the words.
Such beauty can be caught by brush
But it looks flat without a heart
So to all of us I call out
Plant a garden make virtual art.
Your rewards will be peace of mind
Sitting amongst your flotilla of flowers
Shut your eyes, let your nose be the guide
Even enjoy the summer showers
When winter comes the colours change
Purples, yellows and white are there
Greens of many hue prevail
Different pleasures to impare.
Gone the heady perfume smells
More delicate fragrances arise
Looking at the wintry sun
Til the snow falls and hides.
