Nature Slumbers

How swiftly the seasons change
Years like rivers flow unencumbered
Towards eternity’s vast and opened arms
And engulfed are these compelling streams
Forever to recline in the annals of time

Autumn’s leaves of burnt orange and red
Now lay beneath purest first snow
And merge with the color of earth
As silence hovers amidst brisk air
Nature, worn and weary, slumbers

A great poetic way to describe the season of autumn as it moves closer to December and the coming of winter.
