Nagozu Aldean

hearts that drifted apart
now strangers with memories
past is past, gone and done
see how lives can be temporary

whispered promises long forgotten
embraces that turned cold
the timelessness suddenly ended
abandoned, nothing more to hold

barely able to remember
how it was, or how it could’ve been
this past of a future life
so it was thought, so it seemed.

***Nagozu Aldean is Basque for "I Stay Near You". It was from a book I read when I was 12 years of age. Never forgot the term.

What does the title of your poem mean Aleck? I am curious, add the meaning at the bottom of your poem, with an * and then the explanation beside it, your a poet with depth, I like that, keep going my dear, xxx vie

Thank you Vie. I just edited the piece to incorporate your suggestion. Nagozu aldean is Basque for "I Stay Near You" or so I was told. It came from a book I read back when I was 12 years of age =)
