Myth and Monsters

It was darker than a dozen midnights In a dreary and miserable Georgia swamp All seemed hopeless, lightning bugs on the lens The magnetic compass swirling all around us And so it was also the edge of time As barren fields yields up their magic From the darkness of the night Ancient terror is awaiting us If we so choose to step through They told us we would be wise If in fact, we did not even go Though we were unaware The comets return to earth. In fact, this is what we came for As children, we wish for many frivolous things We played together in the midnight shadows Though now that we are full grown adults Looking for real or unreal monsters out there From all the X-files and Internet blogs read The night shadows are very different indeed As we go in search of what is truly out there

This makes me wonder about being lost. We do search for what is truly the meaning of life and "what is truly out there." That is a very difficult concept. On the flight home today, I watched the film--The Arrival. It makes me think that it is not easy to put things into perspective. So, let me apologize for not being active here. I will be looking at your comments and responding in the next couple of days. Your contact is much appreciated as you have a lot to offer.

haha, I came right back to this one, which I had already proclaimed to be the last poem of yours I had never read!! Sure am hoping to see a new poem from you, sweetie. You asked me on my comment already here if I had seen all your poetry. I am not a hundred percent sure, but I think I have!!
