My Heart Skips a Beat
The old saying, “my heart skips a beat”
Held no meaning until now
I'm living proof it happens every day
When I get a message, POW!
Heart starts pumping a mile a minute
Can't focus to press the right key
Eventually I'm able to find the right one
And her loving words I see
Head starts spinning, fingers tremble
Reading the first loving line
Just as I imagined, her words excite me
Must respond to her love in kind
So I type, retype, and type again
I'm finally happy with the end
I read it through a couple more times
More changes then I hit the 'send'
It's gone and I worry, “did I say it right?”
Hope she understands, this friend
Then anxiously wait, it seems like forever
She replies and it starts over again
Starts all over, my heart skips a beat
Life had no meaning until now
I'm living proof, it happens every day
Never been this happy, holy cow!
