My Diary

My diary isn't interesting Like a best-selling novel You might find it boring I really can't tell But if you're wondering It's my life, Both heaven and hell. My diary is truthful It won't lie It's quite wonderful Yet it might make you cry It's got a different pull Like my life, Both brown earth and blue sky. My diary is plain It can go unrecognized It is in no way vain It's too modest I realized It's a bit insane It's my life, Both orthodox and revolutionized. My diary holds my treasure It's like a vault It holds my every thought and every pleasure It has my good points and many a fault It holds every memory I could remember It's my life, Both sugar and salt.

Your diary sounds as good of a read as this great poem was. Definitely loved the second stanza.

A vault did you say?? http://www.poetrysoup.com/poems_poets/poem_detail.aspx?ID=320134 Both of our poems refer to vaults, though mine refers to a person's head. Anyway, this is a very nice poem about your life and diary, it's almost an ode! I like the parallel structure, especially the last lines of each stanza. "Orthodox vs revolutionized" seems to be almost comically bombastic compared to "sugar vs salt" though! Anyway, good job =) -Kirby MD
