My Butterfly
Through a window a butterfly soars…
Beautiful wings of a soul opening doors…
As lives passed by, and time moves on…
Once on my knee you sat where two made bonds…
These eyes grew old watching the women you become…
From a little girl to a lady your heart keeps me young…
I was your shoulder if you were ever sad or unsure…
When it was my turn to be gloomy your smile was the cure…
I will hold your hand as I did when you were small…
Grasping it forever, a love with no walls…
A proud uncle who still sees that small child…
Treasures that special bond that runs for ageless miles…
written for my niece/Godchild Kristin
she lost her Dad 2 years ago and I am walking her down the isle
for her wedding next year...
