Moment of Fame
They all seem to drop like flies lately.
One by one my aquantences disappear.
As we steadily move on year after year.
I look over my shoulder for the angel of death.
For the day he comes calling my name.
Will this be my moment of fame?
When finally my name will be remembered in stone.
And my friends will all gather to share a tear.
They speak fondly of memories held so dear.
Yes in death life seems to get noticed.
And my existence will all seem worthwhile.
Then I can look down from heaven and smile.
Oh, what a moment that will be.
