Mirror Views

I’ve seen you look at me everyday And I can see you have changed I’ve seen you as a sprightly young kid I seen suffer with those teenage zits. I’ve seen you as a handsome young man I’ve seen you applying your fake tan. I’ve seen you pass your test I’ve seen you dressed up in your Sunday best. I’ve seen you as a middle-aged man I’ve seen you bemoan the departure of your Nan. I’ve seen you hold your first child I have seen you thanking your daughter for your first grandchild. I was there when you retired I have seen you looking at me grey and tired. I am a mirror and I have seen.

I like the way you use the mirror to reflect on the cycle of life, Gareth, and the way you mixed both humor (zits, fake tan) and sadness. Truly captivating! Love, Carolyn
