Midnight Train

Train whistle blows as it leaves the tunnel A zipping train that escapes the loud sound Above the tracks in the sky is the moon The midnight train moves swiftly to astound Through the mountain the train roars its engines With the moon supporting its light above Stars increase the nostalgia of the ride Riding in the train has intrigue thereof Twin lights beam out from the mighty engine Black as night the train cruises, it does thrive The whistle rings out again, bringing calm Peace enters my soul and keeps me alive

Trains always fascinate us and more if it's a Mountain train. You have given a picturesque and romantic touch to your mountain train. A well deserving win in PD’s contest. Congrats Russell. Love and best wishes...Ravindra

This is a very fantastic poem and excellent piece for the contest my dear friend Russell. Hugging your poem as always and also the very talented source of it. Thanks a lot for sharing and good luck always. By the way, my belated big congratulations to your many wins. I'm sorry if I didn't have so much time to visit the soup because of the onerous duties always @ school (Mon-Sat). I'm just stopping by now but I promise to be back & read more hopefully on Sundays.love lots & big hugs,Leonora

This is wonderful! Reminds me of that classic Gladys Knight song: "Midnight Train to Georgia". Fantastic!
