Memories

A lily in the pond A mountain beyond; A blue sky in spring A bird on the wing. The rippling call Of a waterfall; A soft spring rain A robin's refrain. Fields full of flowers Spending long hours With arms around you Speak words not a few. Such little things To remember for years; The songs we sing Memories with tears.

Dear Liz, you have this knack for expressing such deeply felt beauty about life and yet, simultaneously capturing the sadness of lost love. It's what I admire most about you and your writing...its so brutally honest about all the good, the bad and the ugly of this world we all share and experience. But your focus is on the beauty and for that I'll keep coming back for more. God bless you my dear poetic friend.

Hey, this shows me that less can be more. I love how you wrote, "speak words not a few" in a poem with few words. Clever wordsmith. You're both classic and fresh. Cheers and hugs, Cyndi

Awesome job! btw, I never received your soup mail you sent...sorry about that. also I have been struggling lately with personal problems, and am depressed lately thus the reason for the lack of posted poetry and lack of comments...I'm just struggling right now. Simple snapshots of nature and love intertwined. I can envision a photo album of all these images, Elizabeth. Beautiful poem...I picture this as a song played in e minor with a flute. :) Gwendolen.

The title attracted my attention and I read your charming poem. Very impressive, indeed. Beautiful thoughts -very poetic. Memories can be haunting. They do bring tears. May be you would like to read my poem Yesteryears. Thanks for your illuminating comments on my poem The Concealed Anguish. Have a nice day. -Mohammad

I'll walk with you in the summer breeze. And spend the day under the trees. Where yesterday can live once more. As we walk together through that door.
