Mountain against valley were you and i Two parallels forebode to meet Yet my love ceased to lie My heart at night aloud cried To lay my heart I had to lie With this I cajoled your why These I did to make my hand your lea On my knees remain I awhile Till your mercy redress my lie Otherwise I will not again lie I know I don’t deserve your might Darling! I hold your grip alright Favour forbids your knee and cry Your place will take mine For gratitude I hold my breath high You bought my ignorant for lie My height alone cannot buy My want for love was saved by lie Where would I have been without your lie Love like this may worth lies With this lie our love will cease to die
