Looking For Love

Looking For Love By Rick Rucker I think that I always knew, Just what Love could do for you, Make a serf into a King, Give you the World, and everything, Yet, the quest for it could be quite tough, The road to Love can be most rough, The search causes much unease, How dignified are you, on your knees? And Love can ambush you, from behind, Play with you, and your mind, The Search may involve several dates, Sorting through prospective mates, Once you have begun, You dare not stop, until you find The One, I do not know if there is just one, But, My search is finally done, I have found a love so great, That it seems like an act of Fate, Do you suppose, in the skies Above, A Department that guides us in the pursuit of Love? Perhaps, this has been scripted all along, And my perceptions were all wrong, Maybe, she would have found me, in a locked room, Been guided to save me from my loveless tomb, I think this may be true, And you might too, But my Love and I share feelings, many, Our similarities are just uncanny, She and I share the same ideals, We even love the same meals! Each of us lights the other’s Heart, We both are crushed when we must part, We talk often, on the phone, Both sorry that we are not in a room, alone, That we cannot always share a kiss, One of the things that I most miss, Soon, we shall share our lives, and laughter, And our Love, forever after!
