Lincoln

Saw the movie “Lincoln” And it brought the man to life. Sally Field was also Most impressive as his wife. All we know of Lincoln’s From his writings and the news. Books and poems abound on him, Revealing different views. Still, the figure on the screen, Day-Lewis in the flesh, Made Abe Lincoln so alive, Each utterance seemed fresh. His mannerisms, posture, speech And everything he said Infused him with such life, it hurt To later see him dead. I lived through JFK’s demise, With all its added mystery, But Lincoln always was, to me, On money or in history. Yet now I’ve gained a new respect And found myself connecting To this stirring leader, thanks to Perfect acting and directing.

ah, it's so cool to see someone else who saw and enjoyed the movie. I like how you pay tribute to the GREATEST man in our nation's history. I had one problem with the movie. It was a bit dry for me. I so admired his life as a youngster. I would love to see a movie on his younger day and not so focused on politics. But yes, the movie was very good.

He was a man for his time. I'm sure he would have loved the rhyme. This movie sounds like one to see. I usually wait till it's on tv. Someday I'll get a great big screen. As soon as I get some great big green. Ejoyed ilene.

Ilene; this is a beautiful write about one of our presidents. I lived in Il. for many years, but like you - to me he was always in money or history. thanks for sharing. Lucilla
