Life Changes In A Split Second

Junk food was my middle name.
I took comfort in the taste.
I'd exercise until collapse,
To tame the inches, added to my waist.

I drank to put my mind at ease.
I didn't have to think,
I didn't have to understand,
I'd just get lost in my drink.

I was becoming an alcoholic
I knew, but didn't stop.
Until that test came back positive.
And I quit everything, on the spot.

Fruits and veggies, at every meal,
Naps, through out the day
I don't worry about my extra chunk
It wouldn't do me any good anyway.

I'm getting a strong feeling that there's a baby on the way...Been there, done that...Sometimes it takes an emotional slap in the face to get us to take notice...Well written, nice flow and rhyme to this. Lots of feeling...Linda

Thank you. Yes there is. For some as stubborn and fixed in routine as I am, the instant change honestly baffles me.
