Let Winter Be Gone

Cold wind on my cheek be gone! I have seen the ravages of your power And l cower at how my pale face Matches your drifted drafts of snow. As the rain melts you into black ice You are clever old man, your frigid fingers Tugging at my cap and scarf, letting me know Who rules this season of sleep and sorrow. I've seen the creatures you have left stiff and Starving as your beauty belies your silver swords. Whistle your flighty self toward the south and Once again let the gardens grow to let spring sing. ©1-20-13 Winter Begone~Sixth Place~ Contest Judged: 2/3/2013 12:00:00 AM Sponsored by: Francine Roberts

Very touching excellent poem written by a very good poet. I saw that you view another poet named Margherita Russo she's only 14 and I know it would mean alot for her to have you read her newest poem if you have the time. Thank you very much.

Good day Connie, a very weary poem and image... and still i love the image that is owned by the real weather man. No telling who will take control of this winter... Nature and her arm... or the real weather man.. (Jack Frost) <---- :-) ... it is cold here in Texas, and I'm hoping for an early Spring whistle, ~ I want all the animals to enjoy and not freeze any longer... enjoyed... LINDA
