Lenten Reflection

Self-denial is the doorway that leads us closer to God. To lose oneself is to gain a deeper intimacy with Christ. Self-doubt is the window through which the devil makes his entrance. 3/9/11 Ash Wednesday

This is exactly how fasting during lent was explained to us in Catholic school, Ellen. I take it we share the same religious background and I can relate to the message in this poem and I wholeheartedly agree with the second verse as well. I'm sorry "The Enigma" hit close to home for you -- it was based on a relationship I had. It's a painful situation to be in, isn't it? But for the booze, I think we might have been happy together. Love, Carolyn
