Land of Imagination
Land of Imagination
Sammy was a soaring bird
When he took his kite to fly
On wings that grew within his mind
He commanded all the sky
Lizzy was a lady bird
In a garden up the street
She flew from rose to scented rose
And sucked the nectar sweet
Margaret was the mistress
Of a large house by the sea
She bossed around the servants
And had cake each day for tea
Jimmy was a cowboy
He rode a painted horse
All his foes were Indians
In olden days of course
Bobby’s friends were lions
When they came around to play
They stalked the tangled garden
While seeking out their prey
Imagination is a land
Where children often roam
But later, in their little beds
They’re glad to be at home.
