Just Cause
Does the moments apart from our warm embrace
pour forth tears from your eyes such as the despondent swell
pangfully giving rise from mine as I see your face
burning the sullen walls of my mind where I choose to dwell?
Such a burden of sadness we must surely endure
until joyful wrinkles from our desirous lips
form the cradles for tears of bliss to evoke the cure
we shall achieve when our eyes meet through separation's mist.
The poisonous growth of fear shall no longer cause
me to fall against the tides of self destruction.
Swaddled in reassuring hold from your arms is just cause
to declare an inner peace from our love's salvation.
Existing in suffrage is a penance that I must pay
for the catharsis of my soul's etiquette which will
lead to the maturity of heart and mind that will stay
beside you so to vanquish the dread that life instills.
