Jesus and His Entourage

I saw Jesus the other night And stood over him until The earth changed color And the leaves turned brown I left that evening and returned To the night where the songbirds Sing songs they could not Sing the day before. I was told nothing dies In the universe That has a purpose And you can never kill it Words shot Through me like a Remorseful fallen angel And my heart grew heavy Images of songs and The open road Came to my mind And I wanted to be free I ran to the park And jumped high, I called my friend To see if he was okay My spirit was alive and My mind raced Like the wind Of a moody demon A woman bobbed In the water And said my name Over and over She was not real But her friend was I thought of what I need And what I want Like a mother who has Her own life to live And a lost love that You still dream about I believe that Jesus Would have said Live your life Like the dream that it is Jesus and his entourage Came into city hall and Took a number. They sat down like everyone else
