Remarkable plans! Light the fire dear January Keep the torch burning A spot light through a jungle of: Joys, pains, triumphs, failures Comfort, discomfort, Fortunes, misfortunes Health, sickness. What a way to welcome January, Dalila! :) I love how you say "spit out" and "light the fire" -- I hope January does that and it's most definitely a gateway! I wasn't able to write for this contest :( but this definitely is a joy and hopeful read :)! Btw, I had to Smile Real Wide as I saw your avatar! Is this your beloved kubo?? It's definitely Charming ^_^! I love that you put it here :D

Dalila, you asked me if it was personification. I agree with Gwen down here. Of course it is! Don't fret. I will be disappointed if this fine work does not make the winners' list!

Spitting, sharing, lighting, exalting,..all are great examples of personification ...u hit the mark!! I really enjoyed this one and hope that we all can close the door to anything bad in the old year. Looking forward to the freshness of 2012,,,Good luck with your entry. High five! Gwendolen.

January can be considered a gateway to the unknown since it is the first of the twelve months of the year. I just hope those other eleven months bring you blessings in every way. Good write.
