I'Ve Not Heard the Mockingbird

I’ve Not Heard The Mockingbird

I’ve not heard the Mockingbird lately sing
Nor the Whip-Poor-Will’s notes at dusk loudly ring
Their melodies are quiet to my listening ear
Silent are the warnings that I had learned to fear

Are the warnings no longer that valid
Have we as people strayed away pallid
Are we too fargone to come back to the way
Nothing is impossible with God_ nay

There’s a faint cooing listen to the Dove
He is tenderly calling come My love
Come back to our intimacy; my touch
Commune with me; from My cup always sup

Warnings are being sung each day repent
Change, change don’t to hell be bent

Apocalypse=a prophetic revelation, especially concerning a
cataclysm in which the forces of good permanently triumph over the
forces of evil..
Any universal or widespread destruction or disaster

I must say I do like the words here. I try to avoid most religion based poems, but I like this. The sonnet used to be my form when I first started writing so that's what first inclined me. Nice work.

Sara, I have felt fear inside my stomach all year, mostly when I waken in the mornings. It keeps me from going back to sleep. I don't know if it is anxiety or god trying to tell me something but the world is sure getting to be a scary place. I like how you put the faint cooing of the dove of peace into this.

A nation that turns away from God is doomed..We have seen it in the past..A rise and fall of a nation..We individually need revival and then a revival at home, close to home, counties, cities, then our nation..Someone needs to call our nation to prayer and honor to our God the creator of this universe..Thanks for stopping by..Sara
