It's Not Your Fault
Mother don't blame yourself for my undoing
It's not your fault, nor mine--things just happen
You may think you somehow screwed me up
But believe me, no one can screw me up more than happenstance
Decades have passed
Another year older & still you feel remorse for my being gay
Nothing can make someone become gay, it's born innate
I know it sounds crazy, but I don't think I'd change a thing
If I could go back & relive my life
Everything I've experienced has lead me up to this point
So breathe a sigh of relief and don't flatter yourself
A mother, a father can have only so much influence.
