It Should Be Every Day

I don’t spell my name with a “Mc” or an “O”, but I just would like all of you to know, that the green in me is something permanent. The Irish in me is nearly one hundred percent. My ancestors came over from the Emerald Isle. They lived over here for quite a while. My folks were hard-drinking and tough, but not mean. They were always proud of the wearing of the green. The family is just as happy and proud today. To us, St. Patrick’s Day is every day. March 16, 2013

Hi Robert; I'm not Irish, but green is one of my favorite colors. In Chicago Every year, the water fountains and the Chicago River would be colored in green and it looked beautiful. If you went down town it looked beautiful. The next day which is my birthday the water would still be green. Love your poem. lucilla
