In the Absence of Moonlight
In the absence of moonlight
Night shadows disappear
But stars sparkle more brightly
And lovers draw more near
In the absence of moonlight
The earth’s spin appears to stall
Candles beg to be lighted
Romanticism comes to call
She cuddled with me more closely
And the timing was oh so right
That I proposed and she accepted
In the absence of moonlight
