In Memory of a Great Female Artist
I am but a stranger
Pen to paper ,
Words from the heart
Trying to describe an icon.
Who are you?
Like Michael Jackson the king of pop
You are a legend,
You are unique,
Bless, gifted and talented.
Yet in the darkest of places
Secluded and alone,
You are weak,
Scared and confused.
You once said, you are your own worst enemy,
Yet a friend,
Laid to rest ,
Put to sleep
Your fears
Your plead
Your sorrows are at its end.
Now asleep the world mourns,
Heaven rejoices ,
Angels sings.
The child once lost has found her way home
Born into a family,
Enriched by love,
Sanctified by God’s grace.
Who were you?
You were a child of God
Lent to the world
To unite music and love
And now that your time has end
How shall we remember you?
Remember the queen of R/B
The voice she possessed,
The songs she sang,
The records she sold,
The hearts she touched.
