In Love With a Rasta

I tilt my head back on this chair while listening to Ky-Mani Marley tag team with Protoje as they speak on Rasta Love. I think about the story of my lyfe, the unknown me that many can not see. The piece of me that is missing even at 23. My lyfe is the spot light to everyone around so loving someone is a challenge to me. Being an idol has very little room for mistakes but being human they will happen. Yet love, shouldn't be a mistake because love is an unexplained bond between two people. Many think they know but how when you have been with so many you "thought" you love... Lust can be confused with love... I cover my feelings to prevent the confusion until i understood the difference... I met a young Jamaican gentleman who lives the Rasta lyfe. A lyfe my father most likely would not approve of. I try to distance myself even moving away but I still think and want to be with him. Even when he calls I can still imagine the smile on his face. Its been so long tears still form in the corner of my eyes thinking of the times we spent together... The day i told him i was going away i could see the hurt in his eyes but he still kept his smile. I never thought I would hear him say the words a Rasta like him would say to me that made me almost give in and pour out my heart. "I love you."
