I Took a Walk Today
I took a walk today
I touched the grass
And ran with fleeting thoughts into the recess of my mind
For the grass was dead
All that was left was something I could not define
I took a walk today
I saw a tiny bird
And wept eith bitter tears that ran streaking down my face
For the bird was dead
Had died softly peeping
Acry that no-one heard for they did not slow their pace
I met a friend today
I felt a pain inside
For I realized this friend cared not for me
I returned to the dead grass and the frigid little bird
I begged God to let me join them in eternity
Rather than stay in this cruel world
And He refused
So here I stay
I took a walk today
I
