I Spoke To the Moon

It happened only yesterday
The moon did cry,
and slip away.
Behind the mist and dainty cloud,
As if it were shying and much too proud.

Calling softly to my old friend,
As I do,
time and again.
I'd just like to talk about my day.
I know you listen in your fine way.

I can see your silver face.
And so I tell you,
as the night sets pace.
About my life, my highs and lows.
You're reply is only the light you glow.

I go on to say a goodnight to you.
I close the curtains,
and eye lids too.
I'll look forward to tomorrow night
when I can talk to you, the moon,
about my life.

The moon does sit up there each night. It's, just sometimes, it's out of sight. But when it's full and lights the sky. It does much more than catch my eye. It speaks to me in lunar language. And comes across an old wise sage. It reassures me I'll be alright. As I find my way home, in the middle of the night.

It's a pleasure to see that someone else can talk to the moon. We live in a fascinating universe. This is a beautiful poem--would you be willing to edit line 10 and change you're to "your" fine way? Just a thought. Loved it.
