I See In His Eyes

I see in his eyes A guarded steel wall, The mysterious darkness Hiding an unknown fall. His words are quiet And sometimes lost, He comes and goes Just like winter’s frost. The grapevine speaks Of a troubled past, A broken moment With a permanent cast. A sense of mistrust Hides the emotions he feels, Buried deep inside It’s his past he conceals. The dark of his eyes Draws me in, Making me wonder What motivates him to swim. With calm reserve He walks through the store, Only buying what he needs And nothing more. The air around him Filters courageously strong, And no obvious label Promotes his past wrong. I see in his eyes There’s so much more, But he hides it all Behind a locked door.

and the Lord - Hon I have been in fist fights, knife fights, gun fights, riots in the pen but the hardest fight I ever fought has been the fight with-in - My life has changed so much and comments like yours keep me strong and I thank you - Speaking of how much my life has changed this poem once could have been about me - I was once very recluse to say the least - Now I keep nothing hidden and in that I have been set free - you ever need an ear my email is antoinette2332@sbcglobal.net, G B, MJ

I'm in a real rush I just popped on the site to let Christie know I would be mailing her book today - then of course i had to leave my dear friend Sharon a quick note and then i read your comment and my heart just shattered and suddenly I realized that a moments time can be a very precious thing - My life used to be so violent - There is no violence this side of war that I haven't worn like a tailored suit. The last 5 years I have finally found peace with-in and I do owe that to my wife -

Sounds like someone you care about and want to get to know better. Very moving and somewhat intriguing. Good luck. (of course my interpretation could be all wrong!) Love, Shar
