I Borrowed Time

I borrowed time to redeem a wish A first, yet sadly, final kiss A connection of primitive impulses But nothing could prepare me for this A rush of emotions I'd laid to rest With no intent to resurrect Then a simple kiss upon the neck The gesture seeps, the kiss infects Recalling how you made me shudder Silent memories growing clearer As though shot by a master photographer And your eyes became my favourite colour

Poignant, yet sad. Though, I wonder, if time is always against us, is that time really borrowed? Excellent piece!
