I Am Your Grandmaw
I'll finally count those toes,
those fingers, hear you
call out to us for reassurance
that the world can be safe
and also warm, your present
place too confined,
too dark for your dreams
too small for growing limbs
too small for dawning dreams.
I know you already and will say
“Hello sweet song
I am your grandmaw; I’ve always loved you.”
