I Am With You

I was in a thrill
While watching the beauty
Of the diminishing Sun, and
Feeling that the darkness would
Slowly engulf everything.

The returning birds
Had eloped from the sky
With their soul mates.
The last of the fading sun beams too
Were in a hurry
To touch only the top of the trees.

Only I was there,
Watching and waiting
While standing amid the flowers and trees.

The diminishing Sun,
Was trying to hide and go away,
Knowing that the night would slowly
Approach without stopping and
Would remain there,
Till the sunrays eliminates the darkness,
By its sunbeams and light next morning.

The colorful clouds in the sky,
Were hovering all around the sun
Making that evening,
An evening of some memorable moments

In that serene quietness, I was trying to hear,
The melodious singing of the loving birds.

To make it more enchanting,
Crickets too,
Became active to play their music,
Watching the fast approaching night,
And no one to disturb, their mighty kingdom.

Suddenly I felt a touch of soft cool breeze,
As if, it was was trying to console me,
Do not worry “I am with you”

As I am reading this poem the sun is rising in my part of the world, although we are so far apart this sun like your words has connected us. May the hand of God alway rest on your shoulder. Blessings my friend.

GOOD MORNING RAVINDRA.. HOW ARE YOU?? I have the image of enchanting crickets.. I feel the breeze of a loved one.. I have not been on the soup, as much as i want to be. Still i love the beauty in your poem. Especially the opening in this one. I wonder, what a poem about me through your words would sound like.. Tonight I'm sleeping with the thought of you one day writing a sweet poem about me... he he.. what a little girlish thought... good night from my part of the world... always..PD

ravindra, I really enjoy your formatting style with this one. The way you divided into these individual stanzas and the short lines. Great imagery as well. A very nice poem from you, my friend!

This gave me such a sense of serenity. I felt my moment give pause, and wanted to be there seeing and feeling the diminished sun at the end of the day. A beautiful poem, Ravindra...a lovely poem to accompany those photographs of which you speak.
