His Gentle Touch

His touch, ever so gentle awakens memories from deep within his fingers gently caress, like that of a soft breeze blowing across my skin brings to the surface a memory of love believed long dead and best forgotten I sense a moment where, if he did not stop I might regret where my heart wants to lead me remembering all to well a pain never believed possible his walking away, leaving me in tears no rhythm, no reason, just pain. I listened with my heart instead of with my head his words of love spoken in a moment of time the passion he expressed with his caresses shook my very foundation making me lose all sense of the world around me I remember the tears, not of happiness but of extreme and unfathomable sadness one single tear fell upon my cheek with a lovers' gentle touch he pressed the tear to his lips tasting my fears, he vows at that moment with words unspoken, to never again cause me to shed tears of sadness, but only tears of love I feel my heart soften as he looks once again into my eyes I know that the journey we are about to begin together will be different this time, for his gentle touch promises me that this will be so. ©Melody Coster?
