Hero of My Heart and Hands
The gentle touch of your hand
Was something I never planned
A feeling I have never known
Because I was always shown
The hardened slaps all over me
Thinking that my destiny
Was to be abused and quiver
Every slap just made me quiver
My body was black and blue
There was nothing left to do
But give in and let him beat
All the love right out of me
So there was none left to give
No happiness left to live
No way I could make it through
Till you came to my rescue
Softly reaching for my hand
Trying to make me understand
Touches can be passionate
Slowly my fingers would fit
Carefully into your touch
And caress I love so much
Your my hero every day
Helping my past go away
With patience you showed me love
Hand fitting just like a glove
Your grasp I will always hold
I no longer feel cold
From a touch so warm and caring
Hand in hand I will be sharing
Kisses on comforting lips
As you stroke my fingertips
