Hallow's Eve #7
We moved into our brand new home,
Forty-one years ago today.
We pulled these snug walls around us,
Knowing that we were here to stay.
We made our move on Hallow's Eve,
When everything is make believe.
This evening when scary goblins come
So many years past that bright day,
I'm alone in our little home.
My beloved one has gone away.
Once again it is Hallow's Eve
And I'm still here in make believe.
Through the years the joy was real
Before my own true love moved on.
We'd race to answer the bell's peal,
Enjoying all of the good fun.
But on this lonely Hallow's Eve,
It now is merely make believe.
