Growing Up Quickly

The saddest thing to me is a child robbed of fun To be betrayed by Mom and Dad it has begun The trust you once had dwindles away you see And eventually hinders the person you could be How is it that parent's can be so clueless And we still love them, but it is useless We walk around trying to impress both of them With anger and hatred boiling at the brim Our sanity slowly starts to slip away now And we grow up wondering why and how? We look at everything with suspicion and fear Never knowing when love is coming near Why is it that parents make all the mistakes But it is the child's heart that breaks So parents love your children hold them tight Don't let them grow up quickly it isn't right
