Growing Up

The little boy yearly grew and grew Hoping he’d know what his dad knew. Dad began to wonder as he watched the lad Could he give guidance like a sensible dad? He thought repeatedly on things from his past And hoped that the mold wasn’t forever cast. Surely by now a lesson he’d learned, Reverting to his past should purposefully be spurned. “Do as I say and not as I do” Is a mentality some have – ‘tis true. The truth of the matter is really quite simple, This is the poorest of a poor example. Wisdom is often at the center of one’s thoughts Sadly some think it’s that which can be bought. Wisdom is imparted from God above To those who’ve experienced His indwelling love.
