Grandpa

*GRANDMA WAITS IN THE GARDEN* Hi grandpa, it's me again! Your dentures sit in an open glass above the nightstand Remember the tears grandma sang before she pass? The way she looked into your eyes, Moments before she said goodbye Grandpa, I found a note from grandma, She will always wait for you. Hi grandpa, it’s me again! The rocking chair is old and dusty Remember the way grandma sat me on her lap? Read many stories before I took a nap How she enjoyed stroking my hair with her hands I miss the way she rocked me to sleep every night Hello, grandpa! I stored your hearing aid away Remember that special musical box in grandma's drawer? I opened it last night, to watch the ballerina soar I wish you could hear the tiny chimes grandma loved I hope you don’t mind, I’m keeping grandma's favorite scarf Hello, Grandpa! I'm caressing grandma’s picture frame Remember the way she looked in the yellow pretty sundress? Grandpa, I miss the things grandmother did for you Like the walking cane she handcrafted before she left Hello, grandpa, it's me again! My tears have soften now, knowing you will soon see her again Take your place with her in the sky Please, say hi and give her a kiss Tell her I miss her so much I love you grandpa ~*~

Very moving and sad, PD. You've reached into the soul of a person and made them feel your love and anguish. Ty for sharing such a deeply intimate slice of your life. Much love to you, RW (Romantic Warrior.) Stay blessed. Love and joy to you and yours.

coming back to this one of yours. It really is superb. Love when you write this way, PD. Is it hotter than the devil there in Texas? we had such hot days that our power went off two days in a row, apparently for people overusing their AC!

I like this. It has something special in it for everyone. If only we could go back and say what we wanted to say but didn't. Regards, Colin.

This touched me deeply. I saw myself watching over you as you visited your grandpa. I felt what you weren't saying. I saw what you didn't show... I was torn between the three of you, grandpa, grandma and yourself... I will be mulling over my grandparents and the loss there. I still haven't gotten over the loss of my parents... Great write! PR

Brought tears to my eyes ! Made me think of how my grandfather used to hug me and tell me to be a good man when I grow up. And I honestly try to live up to that wish. Enjoyed reading it very much.

Coming back to say TYSM for another win in your contest & for liking my poem. Yes my dearest sis, the sides of stone mountains of Petra are architectural- magnificently carved. By d way I dropped by @ soup early a.m. before going to schl yest. but when I was about to enter my messages to u my internet signal eventually dropped. I was in a hurry to schl so, I wasn’t able to send. Ok, talk to u again later. I’m done w/ the f. verse. I’m not sure if it’s ok w/ u. Sending it later & some queries for clarification about it ,ok. ;)))))). Hugs, hugs & more hugs. Tcare always! Lovem4evrLeo

You have such beautiful memories of your grandma, a beautiful poem, but so sad, I felt the loneliness from grandpa, as he continues life without grand ma, your sadness in saying bye bye to grandpa, , love is eternal, and they will be together for eternity, blessings to you, and brought back memories of my grand mother, blessings sueellen

LINDA- Your poem about grandma and grandpa was heartfelt. My Dad passed away last Oct 20th and I wrote a long poem about us 3 days after that sad day. Alas it is too long to share in this venue. I would be happy to let you ( or anyone else ) read it . I did what you suggested. Look for How Hard Could it Be in 2 parts (the poem about my Dad). Thanks...Dennis Dennis, editor of fiction and writer of 3 poems

so deep!! it takes me back the good old times. One has with their relatives I guess time flies, but one thing that's for sure the best times are those we spent with friends and relatives.
