good-by Michael

they gave you a face that lied
the beautiful good-by to the innocence
of children.
lost to the massed screaming frenzy of that lying
god of gold,
you became a puppet of their money machines.
never knowing yourself.
lost in the frenzy of feeding sharks,
ripping out pieces of your life to fill their
bleeding mouths.
you disappeared forever,
a lonely little boy wanting only love.
then they dragged you even out of the grave
to make a few more bucks.
good-by Michael
i wish i could have held you.
for just being a little boy
and not a god.

It's true that they will continue to use his legend to make profit...and sadly...he never had to chance to just be a normal little boy...his stardom was a huge price to pay for his life. .... a compassionate write... Carrie
