Gift of Story
Gift of story that tells it all
Of past written on concrete wall,
With grey stains deep in shapes to last,
Images safe with visions past,
History legends to enthrall.
Tales of joy and grief to recall
That echo up and down the hall,
Shed insight on ancestors vast
Gift of story.
Out of profound darkness yarns crawl
Tattered past in a jagged scrawl
Stories of times of yore is cast
Into the depths of legends fast,
Never ending and never pall
Gift of story.
