Freedom

The ties that bind me to you 
weathered so many storms

I want to go 

Just want to free fall 
in my own way 
find the things I have misplaced 

if you would just let me be 
someday we might find
a common ground again
one day I might feel 
free again 

to love what is you 
to treasure the things we had 
one day might be a month away 

I need to breathe
I need to feel 
the love
the care
the sometimes paralyzing fear 

wrapped in your cocoon 

I feel trapped 
smothered 
please let me be 
grant me the freedom to be me
