Forget The Tears That Infants Cry

Forget the tears that infants cry
for with no reason comes to why
and with it no breath comes to sigh
yet spectators sit, still and sly

forget the tears that beggars cry
attached to their reason a hollow lie
dirty their lives, still they try
trapped by themselves as time passes by

forget the temptation of her inner thigh
and sweet relations of her wandering eye
with satin wings her love must fly
and leave you on ground, asking why

Interesting and thought provoking poem, well penned and rhymed, depicting contradictions around the notion of lie. Although clearly each has justification that keeps them away from truth especially for the beggar and the promiscuous woman. But like an infant's cry, cannot be forgotten for they're an image of man's weaknesses, urging us to seek strength of character, so as not to be so entrapped. Thanks for sharing and for your kind comments on my poem, Caroline.

Although the tears of infants and beggars should not really be forgotten, I must agree that it is best to let go of a lover who has a wandering eye. Quite a compelling write, Jon. Nice work! Merry Christmas, Carolyn
