Folsom Prison Blues
Johnny Cash surely paid for his crime
Singing the blues while he served his time
Sang his heart out in prison
Till his spirits had risen
Joined the "Outlaw" singers in his prime
Written for the Behind Bars Blues contest
The "Outlaws" included Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristopherson and Waylon
Jennings. They earned this title because the Grand Ole Opry refused to let them
perform there.
