Fight For Life

Did you lose someone to cancer? Did you march and collect funds? Did you wear the ribbons Did you do a 5-K run? Did you try to no avail to save the life of a loved one? Did you light a candle And wish the disease didn't exist? Do you continue fighting Did u persist? Did you stop and analyze What you're truly fighting for? Are you helping to find answers or Are you helping suppress the cure? Cancer generates more than 160 Billion dollars a year Why would they end suffering and disease When they know they keep us on our knees; And instead of the outrage We continue funding the ones who profit from our suffering and ignore our many pleas

Very moving piece. My Dad died from lung cancer at 56 and now that I am approaching 52 I am thinking more about the disease. Great write!

Very sad, yet beautiful in a way. I had a friend who had breast cancer at a very young age, and did shortly after, but she fought and did her 5k marathons and collected funds, allong side her was I, and I was by her side when she was on her death bed and I was by her side when she was buried. She was my great friend, and losing her, I lost hope aswell. I miss her, and reading this poem made me think of her. I love this poem and I could tell it was deep within your heart. Great write Madelin!! :)

people don't survive because of chemo and radiation some of us may be living with cancer in us and not know it. When autopsies are done for cancer patients it is well documented that they die from liver damage not nec. from the disease which is a direct cause of radiation and chemo just food for thought Thank you for commenting Kenneth
